Sleeping Problem

Do you have a sleep problem? Almost everyone will have problems sleeping from time to time. For some it is a chronic health problem. There are a several reasons people have problems sleeping.

Caffeine

This the most common reason for a person to have a sleeping problem. Although young people do not usually suffer any sleep related side effects from caffeine, it can be a problem with age. Oftentimes as a person ages they may develop a sleeping problem even though their lifestyle and habits remain the same. A person’s body changes how it metabolizes caffeine as it ages. That afternoon soft drink or coffee may no longer be an option if good sleep is desired. If you are drinking any caffeine at all, stop if for a week or two and see how much better you sleep. There is no sense in going to a doctor with a sleep problem before you cut out the caffeine. If you find that you do sleep better without the caffeine, you will then have to decide which is more important; sleeping well or enjoying your coffee. Try some hot, caffeine tea with honey for a pick-me-up instead of caffeine! Read more about honey facts here.

A Sedentary Lifestyle

All things being equal, a person who exercises on a regular basis has better health and will sleep better. Those who spend all their spare time in front of the TV will usually have more problems sleeping. Exercise will help put the body into a deeper sleep and eliminate most sleep problems. Too Much Exercise

Exercise can be taken too far for the sake of health. You may think that running a marathon would mean great sleep afterwards. That is usually not the case. When the body is too stressed with exercise, there is simply too much going on inside for the body to fully relax. There is much refueling and repairing taking place and this usually will cause a sleep problem. Runners: I have an article about running injury you may want to check out.

Stress Will Keep You Up

Lastly is stress. Any type of stress in ones waking hours will translate into a sleep problem at night. Don’t be surprised if problems at work coincide with bad sleeping patterns. One of the best ways to combat this problem is to do some mild exercising in the evenings followed by a relaxing bath. During the bath visualize sleeping very sound. Look forward to a good night’s sleep. It is amazing what the power of visualization can do for eliminating a sleep problem! Also, lack of sleep can lower your immune system.
